Who is waiting
If a host, a relative or a caretaker will open the door, write their name beside the phone number. A traveller who arrives at one in the morning at a closed building has a bad night; a name and a number prevent it.
A shared entrance
Some buildings have a gate, a code or a shared courtyard. Note how the driver reaches the door, or give the number of someone who can open it. If the street is narrow, say where a car can stop.
Keep a picture
Save a photo of the door or the street sign from your host’s message and keep it with the reply. A picture on your phone is faster to show a driver than a description, and it helps if the street has no clear name. Send it in the conversation if the reply asks for more detail.
