Camp or visitor area
Many camps sit off the paved road. Some camps send their own vehicle for the last stretch. Write what the camp told you, so the airport car stops at the right point.
An Amman airport to Wadi Rum request on this page starts at Queen Alia. The ride does not include a jeep inside the protected area. Petra on the same day is a longer plan than one drop-off. Say so in the notes if you need it.
The drive from Queen Alia to Wadi Rum
Wadi Rum is in the far south of Jordan, close to Aqaba. From Queen Alia the road runs south along the Desert Highway for roughly 300 to 320 km. Driving guides and transfer listings give about three and a half to five hours, and that range depends on traffic, the exact camp and stops on the way. Plan for the long end of it.
Flying into Aqaba brings you much closer, and published guides describe Wadi Rum as about an hour from the Aqaba side. If your flight lands at Queen Alia, a car is the direct way.
Camp or visitor area
Many camps are off the paved road, and some send their own vehicle for the last stretch of desert track. Ask your camp where it meets guests, and write that point in your request, so the airport car stops at the right place. If the camp collects guests from the visitor area, name the visitor area.
A full day on the road
Because the drive is long, a Wadi Rum transfer from the airport uses most of the day. A flight that lands in the morning can arrive in the afternoon; a late landing may mean reaching the camp after dark. Tell the camp your arrival time so dinner and the bed are ready.
Petra on the same trip is a different plan. It is closer to the road south than Wadi Rum is, so ask about it in the notes if you want a stop there.
What the ride does not include
The car goes from Queen Alia to the point you name. A jeep tour inside the protected area is arranged with the camp or a local operator, not in this request.
What to ask the camp before you travel
Ask where the camp meets guests, what time check-in and dinner are, whether the last stretch is by its own vehicle, and what to bring for the night. Desert nights can be cold outside summer, so a warm layer belongs in the hand luggage, not in the large bag. Send the camp the same flight and arrival time you send us.
A worked example: landing to the camp
Suppose the flight lands at 09:00. The car leaves near 10:00 and the drive takes about 3.5 to 5 hours, so you reach the visitor area or the camp between roughly 13:30 and 15:00. That still leaves the afternoon for the desert. A landing at midday puts you at the camp near dusk, so ask the camp whether the last stretch can be done after dark.
Choosing the drop-off
Camps work in different ways. Some are reached from the visitor area by their own pick-up, some sit close to the paved road, and some are deeper in the desert. The camp tells you which applies, and your request should name the same point, so the airport car and the camp vehicle meet.
What to send
The camp name or the visitor area, the meeting point the camp gave you, the flight number, the landing time, how many people and how many bags. Ask for the fare for the Wadi Rum route in the same message. The reply confirms the car.
What to send
The flight number, the passenger count, and the camp name make the request usable. Ask for the fare for the Wadi Rum route in the same message.
