Wadi Rum and Aqaba: Two Requests, About an Hour Apart

Wadi Rum and Aqaba are two requests when your trip includes both. From Queen Alia the desert is about 3.5 to 5 hours and the coast about 3.5 to 4 hours, and the two are roughly an hour apart by road. The first request goes to the place you reach first; the move between them is the second.

Which first

Many travellers sleep in the desert first and finish at the coast, because the road from Wadi Rum to Aqaba is short and ends the trip beside the sea. Others take Aqaba first and add a camp on the way back. Both are fine; pick by where you want the last night.

Writing the second request

The first stop is the pickup and the second is the destination. Add the date, the time you want to leave the camp, the number of passengers and bags. Ask the camp when your jeep tour ends, so the second pickup is set after it.

Time the second pickup

Ask the camp whether the move to Aqaba can leave right after your last tour or the next morning, and write that time in the second request. A pickup after dark needs a camp that can arrange it, so ask before you confirm. Tell the Aqaba hotel when you expect to arrive.
