Children Count as Passengers: How to Write the Number
The passengers field is the size of the party. Count every child who sits in the car, and add seat and age in the notes.
Jordan Airport Transfer2 min
Every child who occupies a seat counts as a passenger. The passengers field is the size of the party, adults and children together, and the child seat and the child’s age belong in the notes.
| Party | Passengers | In the notes |
|---|---|---|
| 2 adults, 2 children aged 6 and 9 | 4 | Two booster seats |
| 2 adults, 1 baby in a carrier | 3 | Baby carrier, the baby’s age |
| 3 adults, 2 teenagers | 5 | Nothing extra |
Why the count matters
The number chooses the car. A party counted as two adults when it is really two adults and three children arrives to a vehicle that is too small, and the correction costs time at the hall. Counting once, correctly, is the cheapest fix.
Seats and ages
Write the age with each seat, so the right one is ready. A baby carrier and a booster for a nine-year-old are different things. If the family changes before the trip, send the new number in the same conversation.
When in doubt, count
Older children who sit in the back with an adult still need their own place in the count, and a teenager counts like an adult for the size of the car. Some families add the party in words to the notes, such as two adults, three children and one baby carrier, so that a mistyped number can be caught at a glance.
Where to read more
Passengers and luggage on a transfer puts the two numbers together, and notes on a Queen Alia transfer covers what to write beside the seat. The whole form is in how booking works.
