The Time on the Transfer Request: Landing Time or Pickup Time

For an arrival, write the time your flight is due to land. For a ride to the airport, write the time you want the car at your door. Both are clock times, and the flight number beside them lets the reply follow a flight that is early or late.

What the time does not include

The landing time is when the aircraft touches down, not when you reach the arrivals hall. Passport control and baggage claim take about an hour, so a landing at 14:20 puts you in the hall near 15:20. Write the landing time and let the reply name the meeting point and any waiting.

A flight that moves

If the airline changes your time, send the new one in the same conversation. The reply then follows the new landing. For a departure, work back from the flight: the road from Amman is about 30 to 50 minutes and airlines often ask for about three hours at the airport, as in a car to Queen Alia for your flight.

Copy the ticket

Write the time exactly as the ticket shows it, with the date beside it. A twelve-hour time such as two in the afternoon is easy to read and just as easy to mistype as two in the morning, so a twenty-four-hour time is safer when your ticket uses one. If the ticket and your memory disagree, the ticket wins.
