After You Land at Queen Alia: From the Gate to Your Driver

Passport control, baggage claim, the arrivals hall, then the drive. Allow about an hour before you reach your driver and 30 to 50 minutes to Amman.

After you land at Queen Alia the order is the same for most travellers: leave the aircraft, pass passport control, collect your bags, walk into the arrivals hall and meet the driver named in your reply. Allow about an hour for those steps, longer at busy times, and then 30 to 50 minutes of road to central Amman.

Plan the hour after landing

The hour is an allowance, not a promise. A quiet arrival can be quicker, and a busy one slower. If your hotel check-in or a connection depends on the hour, count the time from landing to the arrivals hall separately from the drive itself.

The meeting point

Agree the meeting point in the reply before you fly, for example the arrivals exit you expect to use, so that you and the driver look for each other in the same place. The point exists once a reply names it; a request alone does not set one. Where to meet at Queen Alia covers what to look for in the hall.

If the landing time changes

Send the new time as soon as you know it. The flight number lets whoever answers match the request to your real landing, not only to the time on the ticket: see the flight number on a Queen Alia transfer.

Checklist before you travel

  • Passport valid and any visa document to hand
  • The flight number and the meeting point written down
  • The hotel address in your phone, in case of a call
  • A charged phone with a way to receive messages

If you cannot find your driver

Stay in the arrivals hall, check the exit named in the reply, and message the number you were given with where you are standing. Do not leave with someone you did not arrange. Wait for the driver’s message or call before you move.

Children and older travellers

Tell us when children or an older passenger travel with you, so the meeting point is easy to reach and a child seat is ready. After a long flight, allow more than an hour in the airport rather than less.

What to send

Use the Queen Alia airport transfer page and write the flight number, the landing date and time, the address in Amman, how many people and bags. The ride into the city is described in how to get from Queen Alia Airport to Amman.
